About the Australian Winter School |
History
The Australian Winter School is an initiative of the Alcohol and Drug Foundation - Queensland (ADFQ) the major community based alcohol and drug agency in Queensland. Its programs cover prevention, education, treatment and rehabilitation. The 2009 Winter School will be the 22nd held annually since its inauguration in 1988.
Objective
The 2009 Australian Winter School will aim to increase delegates' level of knowledge and professional skills, present the most recent research, and demonstrate its relevance to those working in the alcohol and other drugs field. Therefore, abstracts that are in accordance with these aims, are encouraged.
Attendees
The Australian Winter School is designed for professional working in the medical and allied health fields, education, law enforcement, crime prevention, corrections, policy and research who are service providers or addressing issues associated with alcohol and other drugs. The Australian Winter School has an intersectional focus to enhance networking and cross disciplines understanding.
Professional Development Recognition
The Australian Winter School issues Attendance Certificates to all delegates to enable them to apply to their Professional Society or Association for Professional Development recognition points.
