The 2010 Australian Winter School Conference 'Back to Basics: A Commonsense Approach' will be held at the Sebel Citigate King George Square Hotel, Brisbane from 21 - 23 June 2010. Plenary presenters on Monday include Prof Margaret Hamilton and Dr Maggie Brady. Dr Alex Wodak will be presenting the oration.

Tuesday's plenary presenters are A/Prof Renee Bittoun, Prof Ron Borland, Dr Jeremy Hayllar, Dr Robert Purssey and Dr Chris Kang.

Plenary presenters on Wednesday include: Simon Cotterall, Dr Mark Daglish and Scott Trueman. This will be followed by a hypothetical on "Challenges in Service".

APS Points now available.

The conference has now been endorsed by the Australian Psychology Society and as such attendees of the full conference will gain 9.5 generalist points. Certificates will be given to all conference attendees.

Satellite Workshop - Thursday, 24 June, 2010
"Mindfulness and Values - ACT and the Serenity Creed"

images for head heart hands.jpgThe conference will be followed by a one day workshop held on Thursday 24 June. The workshop will be run by Dr Robert Purssey, Clinical Senior Lecturer in Psychiatry at the University of Queensland, who is also presenting a plenary paper on ACT and Mindfulness at the conference. Numbers for the workshop are limited and delegates can register for the workshop using the Registration Form below.

2010 Conference Breakfast - Tuesday, 22 June, 2010

Dr Bob Jacobs will be the speaker at the conference breakfast. Bob is a registered clinical psychologist, a registered family dispute resolution practitioner and a solicitor, who practiced in the United States before moving to Australia. He has been involved in many boards and presented on both television and radio.

"Meeting the Needs of Young

People and Families"

This presentation will focus on how parents can discover their enormous power to change their families and meet the needs of their children and how re-visioning how we view parenting and how we view children is truly a path to "changing the world".
